Coinciding with the British Museum's major exhibition, Shah Abbas: The Remaking of Iran, three displays across the museum by artists from Iran and Pakistan focus on the relationship and influence of the Iranian past and its artistic traditions on artists today. One of these displays titled Safavids Revisited displays the work of artist Sadegh Tirafkan and two artists of the Lahore school, Khadim Ali and Muhammad Zeeshan in each of whose photographs and paintings the Persian arts of the book have been given new meaning.
Safavids revisited has been organised by the British Museum in collaboration with Green Cardamom. |
